Before traveling for the first time with Uplift:

- Allocate about 10 minutes to get to know the app and how it works.

- Watch the instructional video, which takes less than 3 minutes.

- Watch the "Practice for New Users" Video found in the FAQ section under "How to find acupressure points?" (about 1 minute).

- Enter a test or future trip into the app.

- Explore the different screens, but please do not activate 2 points together on your body until you travel.

- You are now ready to travel, Jet Lag free and Uplifted.

Traveling with Uplift:

- Enter your trip itinerary prior to your departure (Save and move back to travel screen)  This minimizes the time needed when you land.

- Update your arrival time to match your activation time, if there is a change.

- Our expert users will use Uplift upon landing, while the plane is still taxiing to the terminal. Less seasoned users will find a chair in the airport. Either way, we recommend using Uplift before leaving the airport, because after that the distractions of life can be overwhelming.

- You are now Jet Lag Free and Uplifted.

This short video provides easy tips on finding acupressure points so you know what they feel like and how to find them.

Here are some simple steps that you can take to minimize the strain traveling puts on your body.

  • Plan for your trip in advance.  Make sure the last couple of days prior to leaving are as relaxed as possible, and try to get some extra rest and sleep.  You don’t want to start your journey all stressed out, if possible.  If not, try to relax and stretch out prior to boarding the plane.
  • Ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones are very helpful in decreasing the stress that noisy planes put on the body.
  • For overnight flights, quality eyeshades make it much easier to sleep and will enhance your journey.
  • During the flight, opt for lighter meals and drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.  Consume plenty of water or fruit juices instead of caffeine, alcohol and high sugar drinks.
  • When you arrive at your destination, try to stay awake until normal bedtime.  Don’t sleep otherwise you may struggle to sleep at night. If you are totally exhausted then have a short nap as soon as you arrive, however set your alarm or order a wake-up call.
  • Saline Solution is great for keeping your sinuses hydrated and can help prevent the spread of germs to your sinuses.  My Mom told me about this many years ago and it really works! Only water and salt or pure saline solution.
  • Natural light / Sun it very helpful in assisting your body to adjust to a new place.  Make sure to get outside.
  • The best method to stay awake is to stay active. Keep moving!
  • After arriving, try to eat light for the first day with a focus on comfort food that is easy to digest.
  • Regularly stretch and walk around the plane.
  • Go for a walk after dinner.  You may be exhausted, but going to bed on a full stomach can disrupt your sleep.
  • After a long trip and especially before bed, a hot bath or long shower is very helpful to prepare for a restful night.
