Quick Trip to Iceland

Any plans for the weekend? With direct flights from more than 10 cities across the US, take a quick trip to Iceland and witness a breathtaking experience. Iceland is one of the most popular destinations of the season that offers various nature wide attractions for you to stare. So make a light pack and prepare your camera to have an unforgettable weekend.

The blue lagoon, the golden circle, the Gullfoss waterfalls, the ice caves, and of course, the northern lights are among the many beautiful spots worth of an instagram post.

 



If you are visiting Iceland just for the weekend, it is recommended for you to rent a car and manage your own time. On the contrary, if you take tours instead, you probably won’t have time for all the attractions. Most of the must go spots you will visit are in between 50-100 miles apart. Do not waste your limited time and plan accordingly your weekend to take advantage of your trip.

 



Book in Advance your rental car before the different car rentals run out of cars. Depending on the weather conditions it is better for you get a big car, two lane roads could be a bit dangerous in snowing precipitations. Get yourself a car insurance with someone to pick you up in case of an emergency included and also a Wi-Fi provider for you to check the maps and don’t get lost. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on the road, but don't worry because you will be mesmerized all ride along with the beautiful landscapes of the island. You will be tempted to stop the car and take pictures in the middle of the road, to avoid any accidents try to pull over in a safe place, there are plenty in the road. Bring a bathing suit with you for the Blue Lagoon, another place you should buy tickets in advance because they get sold out, especially during this season. Spend a nice hour or hour and a half relaxing, or finding the perfect instagram picture.

 



Book your stay in the capital, Reykjavik. A small town with local stores and restaurants for you to get a better taste of Iceland. When you are done exploring all the spots, enjoy the nightlife of Reykjavik and have a nice walk in the Laugavegur St. to explore where you want to wine and dine.

The 5 hour difference could bring a lot of distress for you, so if you are planning to go for a quick visit you should be aware of the energy you need to take advantage and get to know all the beautiful spots. Also, weather is unpredictable and it changes in a matter of minutes, therefore, know in advance that you will need clear and dark skies in order to see the Northern lights. Still, you won’t be disappointed because of all the other outrageous views you will see. In addition, locals are really nice and always willing to help when you seem lost.
