May’s Best Travel Destinations

November 13,2018

Have you thought of making a trip this month? May is a time where many airlines offer attractive deals right before the upcoming busy travel season of honeymooners and summer vacation travelers. If so, you might want to take a look at serious look into these featured global destinations...

Shanghai, China in May

The doldrums of Shanghai’s rain season is over by May, and daily temperatures range in the 60s and 70s. Flowers are now in full bloom, which is a total plus, and not to mention the humidity has not yet set-in! As long as you steer clear of the public holidays (which tend to be crowded), May will be quite pleasant. Tip: hotel rates drop on weekends because there is so much travel for business into this city during the weekdays.

Malta in May

This tiny Mediterranean island nation sits between Sicily and the North African coast. It is known to be an amazing destination in May right before the crowds of tourists begin to flood the beaches in June. Spring in Malta means stumbling upon lovely annual events, such as reenactments, a fireworks festival, strawberry festival, and delicious local village feasts. As later months become very hot, visiting Malta in May will ensure that you’ll see much more greenery and avoid the intense humidity. Tip: Explore ancient temples and vineyards with very reasonable admission and lodging prices!

São Paulo, Brazil in May

Within the largest South American country lies the financial capital of that entire region. Visit Brazil’s financial capital in May when the temperature is in the 60’s and 70’s with low chances of rain all month. Hotels will be reasonably priced during May, before peak season spikes pricing. São Paulo is known for its diverse culture, and can be best described as multiple cities compiled into one. You’ll experience awesome street art, next level nightlife, and world-renowned restaurants just to name a few. Tip: A must see is the Municipal Market of São Paulo located in one of the most historic buildings in the city where you can taste and buy some of the freshest and most exotic fruits and vegetables in the world.

Washington, D.C. in May

Washington, D.C. in May means flowers are fully bloomed, and the day-time temperature is in the 70’s constantly with nice refreshing cool air in the evenings. As the months go on it gets hotter and stickier, so going in May will be much more comfortable for walking around as there are tons of statues and memorials all around the city. The National Cherry Blossom Festival ends in April, so going in May you’ll find better prices on lodging and transportation, and will beat the crowds at the many amazing attractions and live performances. Tip: Uber is a very affordable transportation option and the metro runs very frequently as parking can be extremely difficult anywhere you go in D.C.
